An Amsterdam observation deck is opening a new swing that will allow visitors to soar over the city at a height of almost 100 meters.

Over the Edge is the new attraction – opening on 26 August – at the Dutch capital’s A’DAM Tower, located opposite Amsterdam Central Station. A’DAM Tower – formerly known as Shell Tower – is home to A’DAM Lookout, a two-floor indoor-and-outdoor observation deck that opened last May. The new ride lets people swing back and forth over the edge of the tower. The users are secured by restraints and the swings are hydraulically driven according to a news release, but visitors can swing as they would normally.

Visitors can also “enjoy an unparalleled view of the city, while the adrenaline courses through your veins”. The company says “Over the Edge” is Europe’s highest swing. Anyone who wants to try the swing has to pay €12.50 to visit the Lookout and a ride on the swing is an additional €5. However, the ride is free until 1 September.
