Overview

After breakfast at your hotel, it’s time to head to Botswana. A driver will pick you up from your hotel for your scheduled road transfer to Kasane International Airport, about an hour and a half away. During this ride, you will cross over the Botswana border, entering the second country of your trip. Upon arrival at Kasane Airport, you’ll meet your new English-speaking driver for a scheduled drive from the airport to the town of Kasane, where you’ll be staying at Jackalberry Chobe (or similar). After you check in to your room, you’ll enjoy a lovely lunch onsite, before heading out on your first game drive. During this roughly three-hour safari, you’ll take to the bush and witness some incredible forms of wildlife. What better introduction to Botswana? Finally, you’ll return to the hotel in the early evening to enjoy pre-dinner drinks and dinner. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Highlights

Kasane

Tucked in the Northeast corner of Botswana, on the banks of the famous Chobe River, the scenic town of Kasane rests on the doorstep of the spectacular Chobe National Park. There are no boundary fences that separate the village from the park and game; elephants and hippos are often spotted roaming around town, while the large dead trees along Sedudu Valley Road frequently provide shelter for leopards. Within Kasane, an ancient baobab tree — once a local prison — also stands on display.

Game Drive in Chobe National Park

Start your first afternoon in Botswana strong with an afternoon game drive directly from the grounds of your luxury tent accommodation. During this three-hour tour, you’ll ride a safari vehicle through the wildlife-filled Chobe National Park, following the expertise and experience of your local safari guide. All kinds of wildlife abound in the park, so you never know if — or when — you’ll spot a leopard, lion, or zebra along the Chobe River banks.
