A winner and three guests will spend the night of 15 October at Abbey Road Studios, where legendary acts like the Beatles and Pink Floyd recorded. The event will be hosted by DJ Mark Ronson and the guests will spend the night in the studio’s split-level Studio 3, which will serve as their bedroom for the night. According to the listing, guests will be able to “walk the hallowed halls and tap your fingers on the keys of John Lennon’s piano, still marked with cigarette burns dating back to the recordings of The White Album”.
If a night in the legendary studio isn’t enough, the guests will be greeted to the historic building with champagne. There they will meet Ronson, the DJ and musician known for producing Adele’s album 19 and Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black. The visitors will get an exclusive tour of the studios, meet some of the staff, listen to music or watch a film in Studio 3, play the instruments and more. They will even have the option to record a song with an Abbey Road Studios engineer.
As an added bonus, guests will also get two additional nights in an Airbnb listing before or after their stay. If the winner is from outside of London, they will be flown in from anywhere around the world.
Those who want to enter to win the once-in-a-lifetime experience must write in what song they would have wished to have seen recorded at the studio.
Unfortunately, there can only be one winner, and any other music fans heading to London will have to be content with checking out the outside of the building – and recreating the cover of the Beatles’ album Abbey Road at the local zebra crossing. If you’re not heading to London – or are desperate to see inside – you can take a virtual tour of Abbey Road Studios with Google’s Inside Abbey Road.
