Siberia’s oil capital, Tyumen, has been ranked Russia’s best city to live in, ahead of Moscow and St Petersburg, according to a new study by experts from the Russian government’s Financial University. The study included a survey of 27 Russian cities with more than 500,000 inhabitants, and looked at factors such as medical care, access to education, quality of roads, salaries and life expectancy. Tyumen was the first Russian settlement in Siberia, and today it is a large industrial and business centre as well as a popular tourist destination, especially for Germans.
