The water in the public drinking fountain in Florence’s Piazza della Signora has been found to contain over 5 times the safe amount of lead. The discovery was made by a study commissioned by the Italian consumer safety watchdog Altroconsumo, which analysed the water from public fountains in 35 cities across Italy. A fountain in Genoa was also found to have unsafe levels of lead. Read more: thelocal.it
