If you have ever dreamed of seeing the City of Angels from the heavens, your wishes have just come true. Thailand’s tallest building, King Power Mahanakhon, has opened an awe-inspiring SkyWalk complete with a glass floor 314 metres above the busy streets of Bangkok. A two-tiered observation tower is part of the complex that also hosts Bangkok’s highest rooftop bar and a 63-square-metre glass tray floor.

To reach the spectacle, travellers walk through a Bangkok-themed digital corridor with model ceiling before taking a 50-second elevator ride to the building’s 74th floor. This level has an enclosed observation floor with panoramic 360-degree views to take in the city from its central Silom location, with Augmented Reality on hand to find key landmarks using your mobile phone, and touchscreen televisions telling the history of the capital over the past two hundred years. To document your experience, a replica Victorian style 1883 red mailbox is in situ to buy and send postcards to loved ones anywhere in the world for only 40 baht (US$ 1.20).

Four floors within the tower offer duty free shopping from sponsors, King Power, where items purchased, including exclusive SkyWalk souvenirs, will be ready to collect at the international airport on departure from Thailand.
