Chris Hemsworth is Australia's new ambassador for tourism

Aussie movie star Chris Hemsworth, is taking his love for the sand and surf to the next level after being announced on Friday as the new Global Ambassador for Tourism Australia’s coastal experiences.

The Federal Tourism Minister said the actor had been signed up to take part in the the agency’s ‘There’s Nothing Like Australia’ campaign focussing on Australia’s coasts and aquatic experiences. ‘In Australia you’re surrounded by the most incredible natural beauty. Being in the water or near to it is a way of life for us,’ Hemsworth said in a statement. Tourism Australia is hoping the star will lift Australia’s profile in the United States. The actor recently moved back to Australia with his actress wife Elsa Pataky and their three children.
