The prestigious Sony World Photography Awards have revealed their first wave of winners. With more than 345,000 submissions, the highest number to date, the competition will announce several categories of winners - the first one being the National winners.

The National winners are a way to “support local photographic communities”. One winner is chosen from each of the countries participating in the contest - sixty-three this year. All of the winning images will be featured in the 2020 Sony World Photography exhibition at Somerset House in London from 17 April to 4 May.

You can see a selection of the winners in the gallery down below, and if you want to stay up to date on the latest news from the competition you can check out its official website here.
