Now in its 23rd year, the annual awards recognise the very best establishments across a range of diverse categories, including the Most Unique B&B, the Friendliest B&B and Guest Accommodations of the Year. The competition also saw online booking platform Eviivo looking at nearly 1500 reviews of its top 100 properties to discover the most important factors that pleased guests, with “friendly”, “hosts”, and “welcome” being the most commonly-used words contained in positive feedback.

In Wales, the Rhedyn Guest House in Builth Wells, Powys scooped the top prize, while Northern Ireland’s Causeway Lodge in Bushmills, County Antrim was also named the best in its category, while in Scotland, Cruickshanks Boutique B&B in the Isle of Arran took the top spot. “B&Bs are an integral part of the British hospitality industry, providing a unique experience and bespoke customer care. The AA B&B Awards are an important date in the AA’s calendar, as we celebrate all that is great about B&Bs and highlight those that are constantly striving beyond what is expected. I’d like to congratulate this year’s winning B&Bs for their continued hard-work and for delivering customers a fantastic service,” said Simon Numphud, Managing Director at AA Hotel & Hospitality Services.
