This adorable pup is working at an Australian hotel for a good cause

An adorable dog is bringing travellers joy at an Australian hotel – while raising awareness of a good cause at the same time.

Mr Walker – as the friendly Labrador is named – joined the team at the Park Hyatt Melbourne this summer as the hotel’s official canine ambassador. The pup was originally being trained by Guide Dogs Victoria, but ending up making a “career change” after his sweet nature and people skills made him more qualified to be an ambassador.

Mr Walker’s official hotel duties include “greeting guests at the lobby, attending very important client meetings, and advocating for the Guide Dogs Victoria cause,” according to the hotel. Guide Dogs Victoria provides support to people with low vision or blindness, ranging from guide dogs to other mobility services.

Since it’s unsurprising that a dog as cute as Mr Walker would be a hit with guests, the hotel also encourages people to share their photos with him using #BarkHyattMelbourne and #GuideDogsVictoria – and the cute snaps are already filtering in.

Thankfully, the Melbourne Park Hyatt is not the only spot to get a look at an adorable dog. Last Year, the Park Hyatt in Chicago introduced Parker, a one-eyed pug who was rescued from PAWS Chicago and now calls the pet-friendly hotel home. Her role there is similar to Mr Walker’s – bring joy to visitors from around the world.
