Just in time for the season change, a new luxury glamping resort has been opened in Bar Harbor. Designed for social distancing with plenty of cosy perks for guests, the resort is just a short distance away from Acadia National Park in Maine - one of the most beautiful places in New England to experience fall foliage.
Operated by Kampgrounds of America, Terramor Outdoor Resort is a 60-acre property that has 64 canvas tents set among trees, and includes a lodge with a restaurant and a bar, and lounge areas where guests can unwind. Located on the west side of Mount Desert Island, the resort immerses visitors in nature and takes advantage of its stunning surroundings. Guests can fall asleep beneath the stars in stylish tents that have electricity and Wi-Fi and their own private fire pit.
Terramor's double-occupancy tents feature a king-sized bed, dressed in lush linens and Pendleton blankets. Robes, slippers, towels and even lanterns are all available for guests. There are also four-person, two-bedroom tents designed for families or groups of friends. Each tent also has its private outdoor showers for those looking to refresh in the bracing New England air.
There are plenty of activities to keep guests busy such as outdoor yoga classes, fireside live music, cooking demos, hiking, biking, fishing and kayaking, bird-watching and lectures on stargazing.
With COVID-19 making things difficult for travel in the USA, the business has made moves to ensure the safety of guests. “The resort was naturally designed to allow for social distancing. Our tents are spaced and are ample both inside and out, with enough space apart from each other to offer their own private fire pits and outdoor seating. This allows guests to connect with one another and immerse themselves in New England’s beautiful landscape,” Whitney Scott, vice president of marketing for Kampgrounds of America and Terramor Outdoor Resort told Lonely Planet.
In addition, face masks are required inside the lodge, while a dinner service pick-up for guests has been made available so that guests can enjoy their meals at their tents, or in the pavilion.
More information on Terramor Outdoor Resort is available at the official website.
