There are endless ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a loved one, whether it’s escaping for a romantic getaway to explore the streets of Verona in Italy or simply kicking back at home with a glass of wine and a movie. But one Canadian hotel is hoping to tempt couples with a very unique offer; 18 years of free stays if they welcome a baby within nine months of visiting.

British Columbia’s Zed Hotel has operated the “nooner offer” for the past few years now, a deal that allows couples, in the hotel’s own words, to “enjoy four hours of uninterrupted, er, quality time” for $59 on 14 February. This year, they have upped the ante considerably, and are now offering a free stay every Valentine’s Day for the next 18 years if couples that have taken advantage of the deal have children afterwards. The offer is valid at the hotel’s Kelowna and Victoria locations. With Valentine’s Day being on a Friday this year, they have added an Overnight Nooner offer, allowing couples to have the room for the night for $89 in Kelowna and $129 in Victoria.

“I never want to get a lame Valentine’s gift,” said Mandy Farmer, president and CEO of Hotel Zed. “We created the Nooner to offer a Valentine’s Day to remember. With the added possibility of a free stay for the next 18 years, a romantic Valentine’s night on us might become a new annual tradition for lucky couples this year.”

Hotel Zed has been adamant to point out that the offer is open to anyone, regardless of gender expression, gender identity, and sexual orientation
“[We know] that the stork can arrive in any number of ways. As long as a new child has been welcomed into the family nine months after a Valentine’s Day 2020 check-in, they can count on 18 more years of getting down in K-town (Kelowna), Victoria, or soon Tofino for a free stay on 14 February.”
More information on the offer is available at the official Hotel Zed website.
