Leaving your dog behind when you go on vacation is heartbreaking, particularly if you’re having adventures that you know they’d love. Taking them with you can be ruled out because of the hassle of finding lodging, activities and transportation options that will accommodate dogs. One new tour company in the US is hoping to address that problem though, as it wants to take travellers on fantastic adventures that focus on them sharing great experiences with their dogs.
Happy Tails Canine Adventure Tours was founded in 2018 by David Blank, a professional dog trainer and 27-year veteran adventure tour operator. It is offering organised trips that will make it easy for dog owners to take their pets on vacation. It says that it is now possible to effortlessly take dogs on amazing, life-transforming adventures, ensuring that everywhere is safe, dog-friendly and open for exploration.
It is currently offering an all-inclusive eight-day eco-tour of the Grand Canyon, Utah’s Mighty 5 national parks and the American Southwest, designed specifically for humans and their canine companions. The Peaceful Paws tour starts in Las Vegas and includes stops at the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.
There will be many activities and adventures to choose from, ranging from hiking to boating to jeep tours with the dogs. On top of that, professional adventure guides, including David himself, will guide travellers throughout the whole journey and ensure that dogs and their humans travel in safety and comfort. It also features meditation sessions a mile down into the Grand Canyon, morning yoga at Monument Valley, and teachings on holistic living with your dogs.
“I’ve spent the better part of my life travelling the world and serving as a guide in countless natural environments,” said David Blank. “Some of my most precious memories are of me camping and hiking with my dogs. But too many times I was forced to leave my favourite companions at home due to rules, logistics, lodging – the reasons kept coming. I knew there were others out there like me who want to experience the great outdoors with their best friends, so I had to create this experience on my own.”
The Peaceful Paws tour is taking place from 5 May to 13 May, 2019, and further information is available here.
