Chrissy Teigen seeks advice from fans on how to spend a 16-hour airport layover

Daunted by a lengthy layover in Heathrow Airport, model, presenter and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen sought advice from fans on how best to kill time and even tried to organise an impromptu airport “meet and greet” as she live-documented her experience through Twitter.

Teigen endured a 16-hour layover at London’s Heathrow Airport last weekend while waiting for a connecting flight to the US, having just wrapped a photo shoot in Marrakesh. With a long wait ahead of her and unsure of what to do or where to go, Teigen, who is somewhat of a social media darling known for her sharp wit, asked her 10.8 million followers for suggestions on how she should spend her time.

Teigen posed the question: “should I leave Heathrow airport to sleep in the city for a connecting flight in the morning or just live in the airport for 14 hours? She added: “the idea of customs and luggage and hotel check in and drive time just to sleep… bah.” Followers were quick to respond with one user suggesting that she book a room in Yotel, Heathrow’s in-airport hotel which offers Japanese-style cabins for people needing some quick shuteye during a layover.

According to the Daily Mail, Teigen satisfied her followers’ interest in her airport adventures by sharing updates on Instagram. While wrapped in a towel and having her hair and make-up refreshed, Teigen and her make-up artist treated fans to a live eyebrow tutorial. The model even jokingly offered his services to her fans: “Dan’s here to do makeup for anyone here at Heathrow, he does hair, I don’t do anything.”

Teigen also invited fans to a meet-and-greet in the airport saying, “we’re at Heathrow we live here for 16 hours if you’re passing through Heathrow shout me out. We’re doing meet and greets.”

Before the star boarded her flight back to LA, Heathrow Airport’s official Twitter gave a special shoutout to the star and thanked her for “gracing us with your presence.”
