Vidanta, a luxury resort collection, has launched its new campaign offering up the “world’s best job”. With resorts in Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Acapulco, Puerto Peñasco, and Puerto Vallarta, the company’s new brand ambassador won’t be stuck in an office, but will instead take to social media to promote the life of luxury while enjoying all the resorts have to offer.

The company’s resorts boast amenities like spas and golf courses, and the successful applicant will also get to go out and explore ancient Mayan ruins, underwater cenotes, check out new restaurants and nightclubs and much more. While it sounds more like a permanent vacation, the role actually comes with a salary –US$120,000 plus travel expenses, dining credit at each of the resorts, and resort accommodations at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta.

But it will be work – the candidate will go through “extensive employee training” for a role that will “inevitably set up the individual for an incredibly successful career”. However, there’s no typical day at the job. The ambassador will be tasked with creating content that will inspire travellers around the world – but that will involve enjoying both the local culture and life at the resort, including breakfast in bed, visiting the spa, sitting by the pool and more.

According to Vidanta: “destination highlights can include starting your day by watching a just-hatched turtle begin their life journey, zip-lining through the Riviera Nayarit jungle, swimming with whale sharks in the Caribbean Sea, soaring sky-high above the waves on a parasail, enjoying a culture tour through the San José art walk, admiring the famous Acapulco cliff divers, learning about the El Pinacate Biosphere Reserve, a Unesco World Heritage site, and ending the night stargazing along the Sea of Cortez or taste-testing amazing new dishes prepared by one of Mexico’s most buzzed-about, culinary superstar chefs”.

If that sounds like the perfect way to spend the next year, you can apply online with a resume and optional 60-second video here by Sunday, 21 October.
