New Google Art and Culture app allows users to browse historical global works in stunning detail
How would you like to search through the history of the art world according to colour scheme? Or zoom into Vincent Van Gogh’s famously thick and vibrant brush strokes in high definition, before taking in a stunning musical performance aided by a 360 degree inclusive virtual reality headset?
It is all now possible with the new Google Arts and Culture app, an innovative new interface that allows users to browse some of the most famous and inspirational works of art from all over the world with ease.
The tool allows users to discover works and artifacts from more than a thousand museums across 70 countries. Search options vary, allowing for refined and specific topics and intricate evolving timelines.
The Google Art and Culture app is available for download on iOS and Android devices and is designed to work with headsets like Google Cardboard to create a virtual reality experience. Users can take tours of the street art of Rome or enter a gallery of their choice.
The app also features a “Visit” option that lists opening times and daily event information for real life trips.
