Haven’t made your summer plans yet? Then it’s probably a good time to apply for an internship that will pay you US$10,000 to travel the US for a month taking photographs.
Hotel chain Days Inn by Wyndham has announced that it is looking for a “sun-tern”, an aspiring photographer with a passion for the outdoors who can travel across the country “and capture the sun in all of its glory.” As the hotel brand’s logo features a sun, the company wants their new short-term staffer to travel between America’s sunniest cities to take pictures of things like sunrise yoga in San Diego or a sunset sailing ride in Miami. As the successful applicant travels, their photos will be posted on the Days Inn website, its social media channels and even the walls of its hotels as some of the images taken will be featured in the rooms at some locations.
There are a few necessary qualities that the lucky intern must have: you must be a creative, aspiring photographer, be at least 21 years old and a US resident, and have the ability to travel around the country for a month. On top of that, it helps to have a passion for travel and, as the hotel notes, “familiarity with applying sunscreen.” The rewards come in the form of a $10,000 stipend, as well as having travel expenses covered for a month of travel, and Wyndham Rewards Diamond status.
If that sounds like the perfect way to spend one month of your summer, applicants have to submit their best original outdoor photos, along with a 100-word description of why they are great for the job, to daysinn.com/suntern by 20 May.
