In a city rife with pop-up restaurants, a new kind of pop up has emerged: the wine pop up! A new weekly pop up concept in Greenwich Village is allowing top sommeliers to curate a list of 80-100 bottles and offer a range of wines, including mature Rieslings and Burgundies, as well as wines from quality producers in Napa Valley.

The wines, usually only found at high-end restaurants, will be offered at a very low mark up and some will be available by the glass, which is a rare opportunity. The concept was launched by the owner of Greenwich Project, a casual dining restaurant on West 8th Street, and a wine broker, Sean Kerby, who has a personal cellar of about 2500 wines.
