San Francisco’s famous Balmy Alley is full of beautiful murals – but this one is, well, a little different. Artist and photographer Alexa Meade painted locals Daniel Levine and Cristina Cordova to look like two-dimensional artworks. Then, as they took part in a ‘live mural’ photo shoot, Daniel decided it was a great time to pop the question. And it’s seriously beautiful.

Think the shoves prove that proposal was pretty unexpected for Cristina… According to artist Alexa’s Facebook page, she paints directly on top of her live models. This creates the illusion that real-life people are inside the world of a 2D painting.

Her live installations and photo prints have been exhibited at places like the Saatchi Gallery in London. She’s also created live installation experiences in public spaces in Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Madrid. And if this proposal is anything to go by, we bet they looked pretty awesome.
