Malaysia's government has blamed a group of foreign tourists for the magnitude 5.9 earthquake in Sabah that killed at least 16 people on Mt Kinabalu Friday. Reports indicate the tourists, who scaled Borneo’s highest mountain several weeks ago, ignored their guide’s requests to keep their clothes on while taking pictures at the sacred Unesco-listed site, which appeared on social media just days before the quake. Five of the suspects (hailing from Canada, the Netherlands and Germany) are currently being prevented from leaving Malaysia, with local reports indicating they may be charged in a native court for violating local laws.
