The manager of an Irish pub in Salzburg wants his home-recorded song Dance In France to be a hit at the European Championships. John Paul Wright, from Coill Dubh in County Kildare, penned the track in less than ten minutes (can you tell?) while nursing a hangover the morning after the Republic of Ireland qualified.

John Paul wrote the lyrics while his pal Tom Tuohy composed the music. The video features monotone singing, air guitar and some very dodgy dance moves, but its heart is in the right place. He explained that bars in France have already asked for the song and that he considers the track a hit so far. “It just got really, really, really popular,” he said, adding: “It’s all a bit of craic anyway and we’re looking forward to it.” John Paul has been to every Ireland away game over the last few years and says he will be attending every single one of the team’s games in France this summer.
