Score discounts on Caribbean travel by answering trivia questions

Travel fans who are familiar with the Caribbean could turn their knowledge into rewards, thanks to a new app called Trippzy. Created by travel journalists, the app tests players on their trivia knowledge around Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, Curacao and Nevis. It allows them to claim points for each correct answer that can be accumulated and then redeemed against airfares, hotels, restaurants and other travel-related activities on the islands.

Players answer multiple-choice trivia questions to accumulate “tripcoins” that can be used for rewards points towards everything from flights to scuba lessons. They get a certain number of points daily, and each one will allow them to answer one trivia question about the Caribbean. Some can be easily guessed while others are much harder, and each will increase player’s general knowledge of the region while also hopefully winning them rewards. The quicker they guess the correct answer, the more tripcoins they receive, with each question being worth a maximum of 500 coins.

To participate, players can create an account or login via their Facebook account. They can tailor their profile to let the app know what kind of traveller they are, and it will customise the questions to their expertise. The app also allows them to keep track of their friends’ progress, issue team trivia challenges, and organise group games and more. Players can bookmark their favourite locations and keep track of the travel rewards.

The app also has plans to expand to other destinations in the future, and further information on what is involved and how to use it is available here.
