The festive season is nearly upon us, with destinations all over the world getting into the spirit of things. And from this week on, people traveling through Florida, Washington and Washington DC can kick things up a notch by ice-skating through the largest Christmas light maze in the world.
Enchant Christmas is a large-scale, immersive holiday light experience featuring the World’s Largest Christmas Light Maze and Market. It also includes locally curated food halls and Christmas markets, as well as ice-skating and live entertainment. Located at Tropicana Field in Florida, Nationals Park in Washington DC and T-Mobile Park in Washington, the events will take place from November 22 to December 29.
This season, Enchant’s Florida and Washington DC mazes follow the theme of “The Great Search”, a story that sees guests looking for Santa’s reindeer who have accidentally been set free, while visitors in Seattle will follow a mystery trail set by a mischievous elf. Visitors can bring their own skates or rent a pair there.
“It’s the first time it will take place in the Southeast US and St. Petersburg is one of only three U.S. cities to host it this year. People can expect a lot of lights (approximately three million), 80ft-tall winter sculptures, larger-than-life ornaments and twinkling snowflakes,” a representative of Enchant told Lonely Planet.
Each destination will also include special seasonal food offerings, including bespoke, locally-sourced dishes. Santa will also be making appearances, while visitors can sign up to host their own Christmas parties under the impressive canopy of lights.
St. Petersburg, Florida will also host a number of special nights, such as the dog-loving Paws N’ Clause ( December 1 and December 16), military night (December 5) and some date themed evenings.
