While there is beauty to be found all around the world, some places are practically made to look good on Instagram. Once such place is Anantara Kihavah Villas in the Maldives, which was just voted the most Instagrammable hotel in the world.
The ranking comes from a contest run by Luxury Travel Advisor, a high-end travel website. Voters picked out the luxury resort in the Maldives as the perfect spot to fill your feed, beating out the second place Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, in Indonesia.
Anantara Kihavah Villas is located in the Maldives’ Baa Atoll, providing guests with access to the famous turquoise waters that make the Maldives popular. To get there, guests must take a seaplane that flies over coral islands and resorts. There are 82 villas, each with a private pool, but many travellers will be tempted to snorkel through the reeds of the Unesco World Biosphere Reserve. The hotel has a fitness centre, cooking school, yoga classes and so much more. Get a meal at an underwater restaurant, or view the night sky above from an over-water observatory.
With gorgeous scenery, turquoise water and white sand beaches, the Maldives is ever popular with honeymooners. But, it’s increasingly hearing itself towards the social-media savvy. The Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort recently introduced an “Instagram Butler” service, where guests can take a tour of the island and develop their photography skills.
While hotels in the Maldives might get a lot of posts, Instagram data actually shows that the most featured hotel on Instagram last year was the Marina Bay Sands Singapore.
