Go glamping just outside America's most popular national park
A new campsite has been unveiled near the Great Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee that not only allows guests to sleep in luxury, safari-inspired canvas tents under the stars, but offers them access to more than 800 sq miles of lush forest, pristine mountain views and the Appalachian Trail.
Announced by glamping company Under Canvas, the Great Smoky Mountains Glampsite sees visitors sleeping in an international biosphere reserve on a 182-acre camp just a few minutes from America’s most visited national park – the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The company offers nine different tent options, including the Suite Tent, designed for couples and families and includes a private en suite with a shower, sink and toilet as well as a wood stove and a private deck, the Stargazer Suite, which has its own viewing window above a king-sized bed to gaze at the cosmos, and the Safari Suites, that come with twin beds and communal bathhouses.
The accommodations include stylish finishes such as dark wooden furniture, leather-style chairs, hide rugs, rustic footlockers for storing clothes and personal belongings, and decks with foldable chairs.
Guests can also book a number of activities online, including guided hiking tours through the national park, white water rafting in the Smokies, zip-lining, ATV rides, fly fishing, helicopter tours and horseback riding. As well as that, the Acoustic Campfire Music Series has recently been announced that sees special guest artists visiting for performances from this month onwards.
Under Canvas also have sites near Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, Mount Rushmore, Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon. Packages start from $2700.
