If you prefer your festival experiences to err on the side of glamping rather than camping, a festival set in Iceland has the ultimate in luxurious experiences on offer. For a cool $1m (€827,205), the Secret Solstice festival is presenting the world’s most expensive and luxurious festival ticket for its four-day festival in Reykjavik. It is set in 96 hours of continuous daylight in June, which occurs annually thanks to an Arctic phenomenon called the ‘midnight sun.’
You and five friends will fly by private chartered business jet to the festival, where you’ll enjoy extravagant dinners provided by prominent Icelandic chefs, luxury accommodation and sightseeing, not to mention a private party with a headline artist. Throw in a trip across across the Langjökull glacier by snowmobile and sledding, and exploring the local natural geothermal hot springs, and you’ll be really living it up.
This year’s festival line-up includes Stormzy, Slayer, Gucci Mane, Bonnie Tyler, Clean Bandit, Death From Above, Steve Aoki, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, and more top names in rock, hip hop and dance music from Iceland and around the world. Attendees can also experience Iceland’s natural beauty, by enjoying a tour of a 5000-year-old lava tunnel and a party inside Europe’s second largest glacier.
The million-dollar gang will get their own fully stocked and serviced boutique festival tent on-site, including Wi-Fi, electricity and a complimentary weather pack to enjoy the festival in complete comfort. All food and drinks served at Secret Solstice, including hyper-premium drinks and bespoke exquisite cocktails, are included, and there will be backstage access and priority fast-track access provided during the festival.
There is only one $1m ticket available, and the buyer will also enjoy a chartered helicopter tour over southern Iceland across volcanoes and glaciers, horse-riding, a catered World Cup viewing party and much more. For those who wish to splurge but can’t quite stretch to a cool million, don’t fret as there are two other luxury packages on offer.
The first one, the Package of the Gods, is available for $14,800 (€12,242), and includes helicopter transfers to glaciers and lava tunnels, complimentary access to all side party events, luxury accommodation for two, a private Icelandic dining experience and more. The Oðinn package goes for $1865 (€1542) and purchasers will enjoy perks like entry to the new Oðinn pop-up lounge, complimentary food and drinks at the festival, side event discounts and more. For the rest of us, standard passes for the weekend are available for the multi-stage festival for around $215 (€178).
Secret Solstice 2018 takes place from 21 to 24 June and further information is available from the website here.
