London Paramount says that the attraction, dubbed the ‘UK Disneyland’ will be based in Kent and could feature one of the biggest indoor water parks in Europe. There are also plans for a 2000-seat theatre and other indoor and outdoor venues that will accommodate West End quality productions. These venues could potentially showcase Paramount films, BBC and Aardman productions, and provide a stage for live comedy acts and concerts.
The Entertainment Resort will contain a number of themed zones, each containing exciting rides and attractions for families, children and the more adventurous thrill-seeking visitor.
At the heart of the resort there will be a wide range of indoor, covered and open-air experiences, as well as a variety of cafes, bars and restaurants. Areas in the park will be themed around Paramount films, and are planned to include a cartoon circus, Starfleet Command, Action Square, Port Paramount and Entertainment City.
The ‘Paramount and Friends Carnival’ is planned to take place in the theme park every evening, and it will be followed by a showcase of the works of Paramount Pictures and other content partners.
London Resort Company Holdings is the the group behind the 872-acre theme park, and it is confident that its plans will be approved when what’s known as a development consent order is submitted to the government in November. If all goes to plan, building work could start as soon as 2019.
