Ahoy matey! Good news for any traveller that has ever dreamed of sailing the high seas and living the life of a pirate, as a new package has just been launched that takes guests across the Caribbean to discover the history and legends of buccaneers of the past.
Offering an inside look into the region’s history as a haven for famous pirates such as Captain Henry Morgan, the Legends of Pirate’s Past Tour begins in Panama, where it passes through several World Heritage Sites (including a visit to the Panama Canal). Created by CheapCaribbean, the six-day tour includes a historical train ride across the province of Panama to the Province of Colon, a sightseeing car journey, and a visit to the fishing village of Portobelo. Following that, guests fly to Cartagena to take part in pirate history tours (both by bus and by boat), where they will be immersed in history and visit sites such as the Castle of San Felipe, Fort of San Fernando and the Battery of Santa Barbara.
Throughout the guided excursions, visitors will be told tales of the past, as well as experiencing local culture, architecture and beautiful landscapes.
“Travellers are hungry to learn about the destinations they visit. Guests are advised to bring comfortable clothes for exploring, and the package includes meals and accommodation throughout the week.
