Irish Instagrammer launches crowdfunded quokka book campaign

A photographer from Ireland, made famous when his cute animal selfies went viral around the world, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to release a book about quokkas.

The book is being put together by Instagrammer Allan Dixon, who hopes it will spread happiness around the world. “The core theme of this book will be about sharing positivity. We want to remind people to smile, laugh and, most importantly, to think about doing what makes them happiest,” he says.

The photographer and adventurer has spent the last two years sharing adorable imagery of quokkas on his Instagram account, posting brand new unseen quokka photos to to his followers every Monday to help them cope with the Monday morning blues.

Quokkas, often referred to as Australia’s cutest creatures,  are small (and extremely cute) marsupials found on Rottnest Island and other small islands off the coast of Western Australia. They’re some of the smallest members of the macropod family, about the same size as a domestic cat.

Do more of what makes you happy. Start with being in the sunshine and go from there. 🐻🌞 #HappyQuokkaMonday
