A Charleston hotel is helping couples recreate scenes from The Notebook this Valentine’s Day
With Valentine’s Day nearly here, one of Hollywood’s most popular romantic dramas, 2004’s The Notebook starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, will no doubt be watched and rewatched in countries all over the world. But couples wishing to fully immerse themselves in the movie can now take it a step further, as one South Carolina hotel is offering a special package that takes guests on a tour of the film's key locations.
Available from The HarbourView Inn in Charleston, the package is called Noah & Allie’s Timeless Romance Experience and features visits to a number of picturesque landmarks around the area, many of which were the actual filming locations for the movie. Costing US$2000 (€1600), the package includes a stop at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream (where Allie licks ice cream off Noah’s face) along with a $25 gift card, a private carriage ride for two around the Historic District, a stop at the spot where the two main characters dance and lie in the middle of the street, as well as a visit to The American Theatre, where guests can request to have a personalized romantic message displayed on the marquee.
The tour also includes a stop at Allie’s summer house, along with two tickets and private transportation to Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens, as well as admission to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, where Noah and Allie row in a canoe through the swamp. Upon arrival to their room, guests will find a dozen roses and a bottle of sparkling wine waiting for them, and the experience also includes a $100 dining gift card to High Cotton, the restaurant that Noah walks by and spots Allie and her fiancé dining.
“Knowing how loved The Notebook is, the reaction to this new offering has been overwhelming. This will be offered year-round and we look forward to welcoming excited guests to HarbourView Inn to experience this package and fulfil their romance dreams,” said Chris Harvey, General Manager of HarbourView Inn.
Guests visiting on 14 February can also enjoy a private screening of the film on the hotel’s private rooftop terrace. Booking can be made directly through the hotel by calling (843) 853-8439.
