Online channel Marquee TV has launched a joint streaming initiative with two UK arts organisations and has extended its free trial period to 30 days in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The performing arts streaming service channel offers contemporary and classic theatre, dance, opera and music performances, in addition to exclusive content, early releases, directors' cuts and shorts. With theatres being closed around the world, it has joined with the Royal Opera House and the Royal Shakespeare Company for an initiative called Every Night is Opening Night, offering an enhanced programme of productions as part of their virtual seasons.

Viewers will also be able to watch productions from Bolshoi Ballet, The Royal Ballet, Teatro Real, Glyndebourne, Opera Zurich and more. Productions include the Royal Opera’s much-loved production of Verdi’s La Traviata, which stars soprano Ermonela Jaho as Violetta Valéry, Charles Castronovo as her lover Alfredo and Plácido Domingo as Alfredo's stern father, Giorgio Germontin.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's productions include Richard II with David Tennant in the title role and Twelfth Night with Adrian Edmondson and Kara Tointon. Bolshoi Ballet's Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty are available, both starring Svetlana Zakharova, and The Royal Ballet's productions include The Nutcracker, Giselle and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Marquee TV is available on desktop, iOS and Android devices, Apple TV, Android TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV. It costs €8.99 ($9.77) per month and €79.99 ($86.89) annually, and a free trial for 30 days is available during which there will be no charge. See here for further information.
