The US is filled with beautiful and historic attractions, but have you ever wondered which ones are photographed the most? Online travel agent Globehunters decided to find out and has come up with its top 50 list of the most Instagrammed tourist attractions in the US.
The findings reveal that Walt Disney World tops the list with over eight million tagged posts, and four of the top ten are in New York City, which is good news if you’re planning a trip there. One of the world’s most renowned green spaces, Central Park comprises 843 acres of rolling meadows, boulder-studded outcroppings, elm-lined walkways and manicured European-style gardens. There’s a lake and reservoir that make lovely Insta backdrops, not to mention a memorial to John Lennon and a famous statue of Alice in Wonderland.
3. Las Vegas Strip, Nevada
An oasis of indulgence dazzling in the desert, Las Vegas in Nevada is full of light and colour and promises excitement, entertainment, fortune and fame. Your friends will know you’re in for a good time when they see your pics from The Strip.
4. Times Square, New York
Times Square in New York is at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Ave, and its yellow cabs, golden arches, soaring skyscrapers and razzle-dazzle Broadway marquees always make for a great pic.
5. Grand Canyon. Arizona
One of the world’s seven natural wonders, the Grand Canyon in Arizona is a photographer’s dream. Its immensity and the sheer intensity of light and shadow at sunrise or sunset make for very dramatic shots.

Disney appears twice in the top 10, with Epcot coming sixth on the list. The giant silver ball has become an iconic symbol of the park and of course, the nightly fireworks show is always good for a colourful shot.

It seems everyone loves to Instagram a bridge, as two feature in the top 10. Brooklyn Bridge has appeared in many films and TV programmes, which probably helps to increase its Insta-appeal.
8. Yosemite National Park, California
The jaw-dropping head-turner of America’s national parks, Yosemite National Park in California is a Unesco World Heritage site. Four million visitors make a trip there annually, so it’s no surprise that so many photos are taken there. Six national parks feature in the top 50 including Yosemite and Yellowstone.
9. Golden Gate Bridge, California
The Golden Gate Bridge in California is considered to be one of the most beautiful bridges in the world and you’ll get stunning images as you hike or bike its 1.7-mile span.
