Venetian gondolas to be fitted with number plates

Venice’s gondolas will be required to be fitted with number plates, in the latest in a series of measures designed to regulate the profession after a German tourist was killed in a collision with a vaporetto water bus last year. Other measures recently introduced include random drug testing for gondoliers and a standard fixed price of €80 per hour for gondola rides. Read more: telegraph.co.uk
