Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi will be the first indoor theme park from the entertainment brand. The first images have now been released of two of its themed lands – Metropolis and Cartoon Junction – in a bid to get people excited for the latest massive attraction coming to the United Arab Emirates. All the rides, entertainment and restaurants will all be inspired by stories and characters from DC – which covers characters like Superman and Wonder Woman – and Warner Bros. Animation, which include characters from Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera.

The park will be on Yas Island, already destination for entertainment seekers as it is home to existing Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld and more. The new theme park will have 29 “state-of-the-art” rides, family-friendly attractions and live entertainment. The six “lands” will include Metropolis, Gotham, Cartoon Junction, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch, and Warner Bros. Plaza.

New details about the themed areas have also been revealed. Metropolis will take guests into the “Manhattan-like skyscraper city” where superheroes like Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and more will make appearances. The attraction Superman 360: Battle for Metropolis will feature Superman in a “battle of good versus evil”, while Justice League: Warworld Attacks is described as “a thrilling dark ride with immersive media and special effects, which will rapidly dart, swoop, and spin amid a colossal clash while fighting off invaders from another galaxy”.

Naturally, Cartoon Junction will focus on family-friendly rides, including a “haunted dark ride” that puts guests in their own Mystery Machine so they can follow Scooby and his friends on a chase around the Museum of Mysteries.

“With the park well on track to open its doors to the public within mere months, we are incredibly excited to share our story with audiences around the world, and will be announcing the exact opening date very soon.” said Mark Gsellman, Park General Manager.
