One of the few quiet, laid-back bars in Datong, you won't find guests singing or playing drinking games here, just an adorable black dog, her friendly owner and Victoria's Secret fashion shows playing on a loop. You can choose from an entire wall of craft beers, including European and American brews, plus Chinese brands. Just help yourself.
If you want chilled beer, however, your options are limited. Many locals prefer room-temperature beer as they find it more flavourful, so the owner just puts a few of the more popular bottles in the fridge.
With your back to the Drum Tower, go west on Gulou Xijie for 70m, then turn north into an alley commonly known as Snack City Alley. You'll see Gym Bar on your right after 70m.
