The Blackbird is an excellent bar, with great cocktails (the London Sparrow, with gin, cayenne, lemon juice and passion fruit, goes down well) and an enormous courtyard. The only thing 'ordinary' about the place is the sense that all are welcome for a fun and pretension-free night out.
You can often catch great bands playing here, and on quiet nights there's always the pool table. Tuesday nights are wonderful for the gals: it's ladies night, and women drink free until 1:30am.
