Hotel Halsingland

Haines

The grand dame of Haines hotels is the former bachelor officers’ quarters and overlooks Fort Seward’s parade ground. A National Historic Landmark, the hotel has 35 rooms which are comfortably modern, but, at the same time, agreeably old school. Many still have their original fireplaces and classic claw-foot bathtubs.

The wood-paneled communal areas emanate a pleasant air of refinement, emulated in the verging-on-posh restaurant and sedate bar.
