Starokonny Market

Odesa

It's like the grungy old-school uncle of European flea markets – there is nothing neat or touristy about Starokonny. It seems like every semi-intact item Odessites throw in the rubbish ends up here. There are heaps of junk – if you patiently shuffle through it you may find some gems. The market sprawls around a large neighbourhood near the long-distance bus station.

There are no stalls – all merchandise is laid out on the ground. If something catches your eye, pretend you are barely interested, then start bargaining.
