Planning a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth in 2020? While Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has wowed guests in 2019, there are some exciting major new attractions and experiences slated to open across the Disney-verse in the year ahead.

Here we round up the top  7 attractions coming to a Disney Park near you in 2020.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will let guests burst through the movie screen and join Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and pals on a wacky adventure © Disney

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Opening in: Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Walt Disney World, March 4

Taking over the former home of The Great Movie Ride, this original attraction will be the first-ever Disney ride-through attraction to feature Mickey, Minnie and friends. Based on the award-winning Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts, guests will board a runaway railway and be transported into the cartoon world themselves. The attraction debuts brand-new 2 and ½ D technology which promises to provide plenty of plot twists and surprises along the way. 

Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast

Opening in: Tokyo Disneyland, April 15

As part of a larger expansion of Fantasyland, a hotly anticipated attraction that retells the classic 1993 animated film, Beauty and the Beast, will open in April. Housed within the Beast’s Castle, the trackless ride will take guests on an enchanting journey through the film’s most memorable musical moments before leaving them to explore an immersive land-based on scenes from the film, including the Enchanted Forest and Belle’s Village. 

Belle Fans on the other side of the world will also be able to enjoy a new Beauty and the Beast sing-along show in Epcot, Walt Disney World, from January 2020!

Opening in: Disneyland Paris in Summer 2020

While the new Avenger’s Campuses won’t be ready for completion until 2021, we’ll get a sneak peek as to what’s to come as Disneyland Paris reimagines its 4-star Hotel New York as a Marvel masterpiece. Maintaining its sleek Manhattan style, the hotel will assemble over 300 pieces of Marvel artwork by 50 international artists and will be the only hotel where you can meet and greet superheroes from the cinematic universe. Guests will also be able to elevate their trip with a visit to the Skyline Bar, where they’ll be able to enjoy martinis while looking over the Manhattan skyline  word on the street is that a familiar face may be seen swinging by!

Space 220

Opening in: Epcot, Walt Disney World in February 2020

Originally expected to open its space shuttle doors in December 2019, the opening of Epcot’s new space-themed restaurant has been pushed back to February. Taking diners to all new heights, guests will board a special space elevator that will ascend 220 miles directly above Epcot to a space station, where they’ll be able to dine over aerial views of the Earth. Along the way, viewports will give a real-time perspective of the journey and the celestial panoramic views will be truly out of this world!

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Opening in: Epcot, Walt Disney World in Summer 2020

Fresh from the success of their establishment in Disneyland Paris, Remy and friends will be bringing new thrills to Epcot’s France Pavillion with a trackless, dark ride attraction. Featuring 4D technology, guests will be ‘shrunk’ to the size of Remy and take a trip to Gusteau’s Restaurant to see Remy’s latest recipes.

Avengers Campus

Opening in: California Adventure, Disneyland in Summer 2020

Set to be one of the most exciting debuts of 2020  and one that will set the tone for the future slate of Avengers attractions coming to 4 Disney parks across the globe - is California Adventure’s Avenger Campus. Featuring the first Disney ride through to feature Spiderman, guests will test drive the latest invention from WEB (Worldwide Engineering Brigade)  a web-slinger  and help Spiderman stop the spider bots who have escaped. 

Round up rodeo BBQ

Opening in: Hollywood Studios, Walt Disney World, TBC 2020

Woody and Buzz fans across the galactic will delight at the new restaurant planned for Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios, a colorful rodeo themed BBQ joint. Housed in a rodeo arena that Andy has creatively created out of 3 cardboard boxes taped together, guests will be immersed in his larger-than-life world of toys and playsets while enjoying tasty BBQ dishes.
