Over 11,000 migrants have entered Croatia from Serbia in the past two days, since Hungary built a fence along its border with Serbia to prevent migrants from entering.

In response, Croatia has closed seven of its eight road crossings with Serbia, with only the Bajakovo crossing, on the main route between Belgrade and Zagreb, still operational. Croatia is attempting to bus refugees who have entered the country to reception centres in Zagreb, but many wish to travel onwards to northern Europe via Slovenia. For its part, Slovenia stopped a train carrying around 150 migrants on its border with Croatia at Dobova and threatened to return them to Croatia, before relenting and allowing the train to continue on to Postojna, where there is a refugee reception centre.
