With its sun-blushed beaches, sprawling shoreline and natural wetlands, South Florida is a diverse and striking destination that is well worth a visit. And now, it’s even easier to navigate for travellers that are thinking of going, as a new train service has just been unveiled that has the ability to quickly navigate the coast between South Florida’s top vacation destinations Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.

Introduced by private company Brightline, the new train service sees Miami being added to the already existing route, meaning that passengers can now make the 70-mile journey from the bustling city to West Palm beach in approximately one hour. With top speeds of 79 miles per hour between the two destinations, the trains will help reduce traffic in the area, and are faster than the average car journey. The initial launch sees the service operating eight northbound and eight southbound trips per day, with the four-car train sets having the ability to carry 240 passengers.

Talking about MiamiCentral, the new 11-acre downtown development that connects the services, Patrick Goddard, President and Chief Operating Officer of Brightline said, “South Florida has a vibrant economy and unique lifestyle - yet some of the nation's worst traffic. We are making an unprecedented investment in Florida, and the benefits can be seen through job creation and the launch of Brightline and MiamiCentral. We believe that MiamiCentral will be a significant landmark in Miami for generations and Brightline will connect the state in ways that haven't been done before.”
