A few blocks inland from the beach, a different Murud-Janjira emerges in the form of a bustling, working class market and commerce hub. Patil's (no English sign) is its centerpiece, doing some of the coast's best Maharashtrian-style puri bhaji (fried flour rounds with spiced potatoes; ₹50). Clean and no fuss, but good stuff. Wash it down with a chai (₹12).
