Souvenir Market

The Carpathians

You haven't seen a Ukrainian souvenir market until you've visited Yaremche's, surely western Ukraine's largest. Now reaching absurd dimensions, it's centred around a beauty spot where a footbridge crosses the tumbling River Prut. The rocks below the bridge are still a pretty place to picnic, mainly as from there you can't see the market.

On busy days tourists whizz across the river on zip lines, though most choose just to cool off in the fast-flowing water.
