The lodge's 35 rooms have fairly drab decor, but the private balconies overlooking the pool and surrounding natural beauty are a nice perk. Eleven cottages with full kitchens nestle in the forest and offer a more atmospheric vibe.
The on-site restaurant (mains $9 to $13) serves Kentucky specialties such as hot brown sandwiches (with turkey, bacon and Mornay sauce), fried country ham and fried catfish.
