Serene Hickatee Cottages is a beautiful and unique solar-powered resort that leaves as light an ecological footprint as possible. There are three fully furnished cottages, two spacious suites and the Hickatee Den, a small detached unit that sleeps two and overlooks the tiny plunge pool. The property features both garden and wild jungle space, and a 3-mile trail network.
Activities at Hickatee include nature walks and tarantula spotting, and Ronald Raymond McDonald gives drumming performances and lessons here at 6:30pm most Wednesdays. Hickatee has a remote feel, located down a rugged dirt road, but it's only 1¼ miles from town – call ahead for a free pickup.
