A rare snowfall has caused huge delight among locals and visitors as the Italian capital city - and its iconic monuments - lie under a carpet of snow.
It's the first snow in Rome in six years and some parts of the city saw up to five centimetres of snow. Several top tourist attractions - such as the Colosseum and the Roman Forum - are closed but that hasn't stopped visitors getting out and about to enjoy the snowfall and take amazing pictures.
Visitors currently in Rome can expect public transport delays and spontaneous snowball fights.
