Robert Mills House & Gardens

South Carolina

Robert Mills is best known for designing the Washington Monument, and he's also the architect of this Classical Revival town house. The restored, stately edifice, filled with period furniture and dripping with ornate chandeliers, hammers home just how skilled Mills was. It is now a museum surrounded by lovely gardens, and is one of Columbia's five National Historic Landmarks.
