Yòujiàn Píngyáo

Pingyao

Ninety minutes of immersive, interactive theatre featuring extravagant sets and mind-blowing visual effects will transport you to ancient Pingyao. The audience walks from set to set to experience the performances before settling down for the finale. The story is about the trials and tribulations of a banking family and the city of Pingyao. The theatre is 100m west of the west city walls.

The show is in Mandarin, but you don't have to understand Mandarin to enjoy the spectacles. You can have someone tell you the (simple and straightforward) plot. There are extra shows on weekends in peak season, usually at 10.30am, 4pm and 9pm.
