One of Bagan's most lavish – and certainly priciest – resorts, the Aureum Palace has high-end rooms and villas, including one on its own little island complete with butler service and a private swimming pool (costing from US$780 per night). Some rooms are too gaudy to recommend. There are two restaurants, two pools and a tower with views over Bagan.
