Specialities include kankada yarkari (crab curry); slow-cooked, spiced pomfret; mustard-based dishes; and Odisha's most traditional dessert, the seriously addictive chhena poda (literally 'burnt cheese', cooked with sugar, cashew nuts and raisins).
